If you are interested in Chinese culture and want to learn something more about two of the most important forms of Chinese art, you do not want to miss this calligraphy class!
The art of writing Chinese characters, or shufa, is one of the highest forms of Chinese art. It serves the purpose of conveying thoughts while also showcasing abstract beauty of characters. With a history of four to five thousand years, the art of calligraphy is rich and profound in content and has attracted the attention of artists all over the world. Chinese Calligraphy of each period in Chinese history has its particular forms and styles.
During this class we will also teach Chinese painting as well. It is also an ancient form of art, but it uses pictures instead of words to express feeling. Chinese calligraphy and paintings are not all alike; learn how to differentiate and appreciate them. Learn the different styles of calligraphy and learn to paint you rown art. In the end, you can take home your own art!
