This weekend students have arranged a trip to the city of Qingdao in eastern Shandong province.
Qingdao is a major seaport, naval base and industrial centre on the Yellow Sea that was heavily influenced by Germany prior to World War 2.The first streets and institutions, still visible today, were all built by the German Imperial Government, including the world-famous Tsingtao brewery. This influence also spread to other areas of the Shandong province where rival breweries were established.
Qingdao is a popular tourist destination in China thanks to its proximity to the sea and temperate weather.
I am sure you will have a great time!
